Adobe has merged its renowned Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) technology with leading camera manufacturers Leica and Nikon. The company intends is to implement provenance technology C2PA standards into two cameras from the brands, Leica M11 Rangefinder and Nikon Z 9. Provenance is the list of facts that denotes the origins of a digital content like a photograph and Adobe spearheads adhesion to it through CAI. The basic idea is to demonstrate the authenticity of the images while capturing it. It will in turn bolster the trust users have on digital creatives. Users can access attributes like time, location, source and method of capturing the images as well as the edit history. Viewers can access a chain of legitimacy for the image from camera to cloud. The new feature will arrest the spread of misinformation through digital platforms.
