Merchants now get the support for additional metafields. This allows merchants to add their own attributes to products, as well as product variants. In the future, Shopify would enable the same for customers and orders page as well. Furthermore, Shopify will build Custom Content on top of the new Metafields development and will serve as Shopify’s Content Management platform.
