This year Shopify set a record of $7.5 billion in sales from Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend. It is a 19% jump from last year’s figures. Shopify’s survey noted more customers are shopping with intention during the weekend. 76% of the shoppers looked for long-lasting, superior-quality products. 84% of buyers compared prices for the best deals during the sales. Over 52 million customers purchased from Shopify-based platforms, a 12% hike from last year. Shopify touted this trend as the impact of independent businesses on the masses. November 25 witnessed the highest shopping volume at $3.5 million per minute at 12:01 PM EST; the average order value was $102.10. While London, New York, and Los Angeles ranked as the top-selling cities, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada became the top-ranking countries.
