Shopify’s new launch lets millions of creators partner with Shopify merchants to sell the products of interest through their socials and share profit. Shopify extends its integrations into social platforms by launching Linkpop, Starter plan, and, recently, Collabs. The platform aims to give creators economic independence by partnering with independent brands. Only 4% of creators make full-time content from an estimated $100B worth of creator economy. Shopify merchants get a new sales and marketing channel to find an unexplored customer base as they eagerly follow the influencers for recommendations. Creators can apply for a Collabs account and find merchants that align with their interests. They can then partner with the sellers and market the products through their pages. The creator gets a share of payment for every sale through their medium.
