In an attempt to integrate into the creator space, Shopify has acquired Dovetale, a startup assisting brands in managing their influencer marketing. Dovetale is made free for all Shopify merchants to incentivize adoption and to gear toward helping the influencers launch their brands or promote products from other companies. Shopify has been focusing its attention and resources on creators to build a full-fledged suite of services aimed squarely at influencer marketing. They have collaborated with influencers such as professional athletes, TikTok chefs, record executive Steven Victor, musician Pharrell Williams, and NBA star Jimmy Butler. Dovetale manages affiliate and influencer marketing by allowing brands to accept new applications from influencer partners, send products and discount codes, and track sales.
