WooCommerce has rolled out automatic updates with patches for WooCommerce 3.5.10–6.3.1. The fix contains essential security improvements for the PayPal Standard payment gateway. The merchants need to update their sites manually if they do not get an automatic update. The company requests the users of the PayPal Standard payment gateway users to upgrade to the PayPal Payments plugin as the company no longer actively develops the former version. The company has published a PayPal payments upgrade guide detailing the process of moving to the PayPal Payments extension. The latter is the safer version for PayPal users, especially with the security patches. The latest version is a newer, free extension with the same and added features as the older ones. Merchants can log in to their WordPress admin dashboard to install the extension.
