By introducing new Shop section, Facebook has recently taken a great leap forward in its endeavour to make Facebook eCommerce friendly platform. Through this ‘call to action’ option, merchants can set products the focal point of their Facebook page. This will help retailers to attract the customers and persuade them to initiate action.
Facebook has refurbished its call to action settings and added a Shop Now button, which is large and attractive, and can be placed just below the cover photo. In addition to the existing ‘call to action’ options, the social network site has launched more customer service options that will make the page more interactive and useful for enhancing the sales. The new options include Call Now, Send Message and Contact Us.
This will turn the Facebook page into the form of a website. Through these modifications, Facebook is trying to improve the retailer’s marketing using Facebook. It enhances the page’s reach by making it more friendly for mobile users, and more interactive for customers to engage in communication with the retailers.
“The new features for pages reflect our belief that no matter if you’re a plumbing company, a flower shop, a non-profit or a brand, your page should house the information people are looking for, help you communicate with your customers and support your unique goals,” the blog post from Facebook states.
Facebook is also heading towards more expansions in its e-Commerce focussed test launched in July, 2015. In that test project, they allowed some Shopify merchants to integrate a Buy button to their pages.
