Google invests in Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com

Google entered into a partnership with the Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com. Google purchased the $550 million worth of shares and agreed to a strategic alliance with JD.com. “ We will collaborate on a range of strategic initiatives, including joint development of retail solutions” in Europe, the U.S. and Southeast Asia,” sources said. The objective is to assimilate the experience and technology of Jd.com into supply chain and logistics.
