An F&B company in Kansas, United States, approached Virtina with a challenging project. The client is one of the leading sellers of coffee-flavored candy bars in the US. The coffee confectionery serves as a treat to anyone looking for a flavored coffee bar.
The brand infused natural and organic ingredients to prepare its caffeine products. In essence, the brand served a cup of coffee in a candy format. On top of that, they stayed away from preservatives and did not use any chocolate. They make these candy bars from pure and unadulterated coffee.
The client runs it's eCommerce activities on WooCommerce. They wished to revamp their eCommerce store. At the time of contact, the client had a list of things they wanted to address on their website. Due to the complexity of the project, they decided to approach the Woo Experts, Virtina.
The client wanted to set up a product detail page on their WooCommerce website. Besides this, they wished to integrate a cart page. The cart page would show the customers all the items selected by them. It would also give the customers the item's corresponding value. The cart page would appear after a user clicks on the "Add to Cart" button.
The client also requested a Checkout page with payment options, billing details, and shipping address. The rate for all products would stay the same for each user. In essence, all customers who transact from them would pay the same rate. But, the shipping charges would vary based on weight, speed, and location.
Even the choice of the carrier would influence the final rate. Hence, the price of the order would vary between USPS, FedEx, and UPS. The customer's shipping method would decide how much they end up paying in the end. All customers would get subject to the same scale and payment stipulations.
The client also wanted us to add another condition to handle extra charges (surcharges). The extra shipping charges get triggered during the warm weather months. Since, during this period, the candy bars need more insulation and cold packs to prevent melting.
The Woo experts in Virtina got to work and incorporated all the elements requested by the client. We created product detail pages (PDP) for each item in the client's inventory. Besides this, our experts even integrated Stripe and PayPal payment options into our client's WooCommerce store via custom coding.
To address the extra charges on orders during warm months, our experts provided a tab. The tab would appear in the WooCommerce settings in the backend. The admin could at any time select the months and vary the extra shipping charges using the tab. Our experts integrated a textbox in the backend to enter the extra shipping cost. The admin could change the surcharge by editing the value in the textbox.
The extra cost (surcharge) would only appear on the user's checkout page with a description during the selected months. It will get added to the total amount at checkout. Furthermore, the amount will appear in the email that goes to the user after order placement.
The Woo experts in Virtina also used an algorithm to fix the rate for every customer. But, at the same time, they were able to vary the logistics rate as per the carrier, speed, and location. Thus, each buyer would get a personalized price, depending on their shipping preferences.
As a result of the work done by the WooCommerce experts in Virtina, the client got a seamless eCommerce store. Not only that, but their customers got a flawless user experience. The new and detailed product pages helped their customers get a better understanding of each product. The pages eased the buyer's decision-making process.
Furthermore, integrating several payment options on the site gave their customers more variety to complete their transactions. Customers could choose either PayPal or Stripe to deposit payment. The payment choices helped the client to pull more orders. As such, they increased their conversions, revenue, and profits.
