Most of you might be wondering what is different about Virtina. We pick up challenging tasks. Our recent project was no different. We accepted an assignment that was turned down by many of our contemporaries.
Customizing a Second Subscription Offering for OpenCart 2
Our client is a bestselling toy rental store. They run a toy rental service that delivers safe, educational toys for children's learning at the customer's door. Their business model is quite unique in that their patrons can select the toys according to their child's age (6months-5years) and specific requirements. The kids get to play with the toys for as long as they like. Once done, they can return the rest, and the company ships them the next lot right away. Customers can purchase the toys their children do not want to part with. Their platform worked on OpenCart 2, and as we know, it is a high-performance platform. The client was happy with the platform and did not wish to change it.
But they had an additional requirement that the other agencies they approached could not fulfill. They were, in fact, advised by different developers that it is not possible to have multiple subscription tiers on a site with OpenCart as the backend.
OpenCart 2 supports only one subscription pattern and does not sustain the default integration of a second one. But the client wanted to discontinue their current subscription and add two different subscription alternatives because their customer base demanded it. The process was more complicated than just changing the price. They needed to have different frequencies for when a customer is eligible for a shipment.
Virtina integrated the second subscription without glitches, and the option is now functional for the client. Customization tasks are our forte. Now we have a happy client with an increased subscription and a happy team glad they executed yet another challenge.

Creating Personalized Subscription Pattern for U.S. Toy Store
Initially, the client's customers had access to only one subscription plan to get the toys – one shipment for every month. But the client needed two subscription plans for its customers by public demand: one shipment every month and an additional plan for every other month. The extra feature would bring them more subscriptions and, thereby, more sales and revenue.
Our task was to provide them with an additional feature. Since our team had immense experience with customization projects, we quickly got down to the job.
OpenCart does not support a second subscription by default. It had to be custom-made for the client. Hence, a few other eCommerce development agencies had turned down the project—this task required reworking the present platform structure.
The code levels were not up-to-date. There was a lot of extra code and unused files, which made the work a bit confusing for the team. But nothing we could not overcome. We were able to complete the task successfully within 10-15 days.
Tackling the Process of Custom Subscription Integration
There was a static code for subscription frequency and payment on OpenCart before we started working on the platform. We made sure to convert the subscription and payment pattern to perform dynamically. This change meant the client could manage the subscription frequency in the backend. They can now enable or disable any plan from the backend and easily create new plans. The results will reflect on the front end as per the changes made in the backend settings.
We ran the process through our standardized quality check workflow and were able to identify inevitable glitches. We corrected them and handed the project over to the client. We also ensured that the customer kept abreast of the progress throughout the process.

How Our eCommerce Store Customization Worked Out
Once the new changes are in place, the client can edit the subscription, payment patterns, and frequency. It meant they would get fresh new orders and more orders from their existing clients. They could cater to more clients' needs within less time.
Perks of Having a Second Subscription Incorporated to the Client Website
The subscription and payment integration works seamlessly. The site functionality, performance, sales, and subscriptions have drastically improved. The changes made the client quite happy. The expert OpenCart team at Virtina is delighted to bring satisfaction to yet another client. The client has approached us for more changes on their website, and we are pretty excited about the prospect of the new challenge. Everything ended well for the client and us, you could say.
