Virtina won a project from a fledgling goat cheese venture in Virginia, United States. The client was responsible for canning, preserving, and making the most delectable, natural and swoon-worthy goat cheese from humanely-raised goats.
The owner of the business was already a well-established oyster businessman, who revived the oyster interest with sustainable practices around the Chesapeake Bay. From the blooming oyster company, he switched to crafting quality and consistent goat cheese – looking to turn this into another successful brand.
The client had earlier set up hosting for their website with Squarespace but realized soon enough that Squarespace was not going to meet their eCommerce needs. As the shipping needs for this goat cheese venture will be identical to an oyster business, they already had going on.
This was mainly due to the use of custom shipping calculator, tie in with UPS/PeriShip, and the mix and match products on their inventory, being similar to that Oyster business. The client wanted us to move the hosting to a Hostgator account and install WordPress.
Beyond this, they wished to replicate the earlier oyster site and create an identical website for the goat cheese business. So, copy the previously existing site's capabilities, change the website in WooCommerce and be able to use the other site's shipping calculator functionality and framework.
The working of the site for this purpose was to be similar to the one they already had running for selling oysters, seafood and meat online. They also wished to integrate Authorize.net for payment processing and payment management services. Besides this, they also wanted to include Mandrill for sending targeted eCommerce and personalized one-to-one messages.
Based on the above requirements, we recommended the most cost-effective and easy plan. The approach would involve copying the client's oyster website to a new hosting account, updating the logos, color, and branding. From there on, the client could review the site and determine its quality and effectiveness.
As part of the work done by the Woo experts at Virtina, the client was able to realize a fully functional, robust, and user-friendly website for their new venture.
