Summary
Klein Electronics, a communications accessories company, had recently acquired another ecommerce brand. They wanted to keep both brands operating on separate websites while managing everything from a single backend. BigCommerce’s Multi-Storefront feature was the perfect fit.
We set up a second storefront within their existing BigCommerce account, migrated the selected products from the acquired brand, and applied that brand’s design to maintain its identity. Now, Klein runs two independent websites from a single backend, managing products, orders, inventory, and reports without doubling the workload.
Business Requirement
Klein Electronics needed a simple way to manage two brands without doubling the effort. They wanted their main store to stay as it was, while the newly acquired brand needed its own storefront, complete with its own branding and product line. At the same time, they wanted everything from products, orders, inventory, and reports to be managed from a single backend. The goal was to keep operations clean and efficient while giving each brand its own space online.
The Challenge
The two stores had very different product structures, so we had to reorganize the acquired brand’s catalog to fit BigCommerce. Only some products were meant to be moved, so choosing and mapping them correctly was important. We also had to build the new storefront without disturbing the company’s live site. Keeping the acquired brand’s identity intact including its colors, layout, and overall style, was another key part of the work. And all of this had to be done within a tight timeline.
Our Approach
We started by reviewing the acquired store’s product data and cleaned it up so it would work smoothly in BigCommerce. Then we created a separate storefront within the company’s existing BigCommerce account. After that, we migrated the chosen products and organized them in their new structure. Once the catalog was in place, we applied the acquired brand’s look and design to the new storefront. Finally, we tested everything from product details to checkout to make sure the new store worked well before setting it up for launch.
Key Outcomes
Klein Electronics now has a fully branded new storefront running inside the same BigCommerce setup as their main store. Nothing changed or broke on the original site during the process. Both stores can be managed from a single dashboard, saving time and keeping operations simple. The new storefront looks modern, matches the acquired brand’s identity, and is easy for customers to browse. The overall setup also gives the company room to add more storefronts in the future if needed.
Conclusion
This project helped Klein Electronics bring two brands together without increasing the workload for running their online business. The migration kept both brand experiences intact, simplified backend processes, and created a setup that can grow with their needs. It’s a solid example of how BigCommerce’s multi-storefront features can support business expansion practically and efficiently.
