Adobe – Advanis Partnership Reveals Research Results on Cookieless Future

In October 2020, Adobe partnered with the renowned market and social research firm Advanis to conduct a comprehensive study on the cookieless future. The idea was to launch a third-party cookieless experience for the customers in the future years. Since the initial Identity Evolution study outcomes came out, Adobe and Advanis have reached out to consumers and professionals to understand the changing trends in urgency and readiness, potential solutions, and consumer perceptions. This study is significant because Apple has already acted on its promise of consumer consent for mobile app tracking with the iOS 14.5 rollout. Though Google has extended its expiration date of third-party cookies on Chrome to 2023, the study found that the marketers want to finish the task ahead of their competitors.

Adobe Prepares for the Launch of Adobe Commerce 2.4.4

Adobe Commerce will unveil its latest variant in March 2022. The release is to future-proof Adobe partners. The advanced version of PHP (8.1) is the base for the new version. The variation claims advanced headless support, increased performance, and better B2B and B2C capabilities. To support their clients, Adobe conducted a 2.4 Upgrade Workshop on 26th January 2022, partnering with LiveArea, a Merkle company. The recording is available after the event under the Adobe Experience League Tutorials section. Adobe has ensured that the transition is seamless for its managed services by letting them work with their customer engineering team for support. They collaborate on several factors of the upgrade process like production launch, analysis, cloud services upgrade, quality and user acceptance testing etc.

Adobe Appoints Brett Biggs and Spencer Neumann to Board of Directors

Neumann and Biggs bring the number of Adobe’s board of directors to 12, a piece of important news after Jim Daley retired in November 2021 and served as an Adobe director for over two decades. Biggs worked as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Walmart Inc. He was in charge of global finance, indirect procurement functions, and corporate strategy. Neumann’s last stint was as the chief financial officer for Netflix from January 2019. Before Netflix, Neumann acted as Activision Blizzard’s Chief Financial Officer. He has also held several senior positions at The Walt Disney Company. Shantanu Narayen, chairman and CEO of Adobe, stated that they were looking forward to having their deep experience in content, direct-to-consumer businesses, global operations and digital transformation to take the company forward.

Magneto 2.4.4 Launched Beta 4 Version

Magento 2.4.4 is expected to be launched by March 8, 2022. Before this, Magento has been releasing the beta version of 2.4.4 since October 2021. Beta 1 Magento 2.4.4 was released on October 18, 2021; Beta 2 Magento 2.4.4 on November 22, 2021; Beta 3 Magento 2.4.4 on December 14, 2021; and finally, Beta 4 Magento 2.4.4 will be released today, January 10, 2022. This latest and final Beta version will include modifications suggested from all the previous Beta versions. Magento continues to encourage developers, programmers, and other users to test this new release. The latest features for security and functional patches for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source supported release lines are announced for 2022. The feature releases are slated for Jan 18, Apr 26, and Jun 21. The feature updates would be delivered as separate patch releases, including Product Recommendations and Live Search, PWA Studio and Inventory Management (MSI), and Cloud Services and Infrastructure Updates. Feature + patch releases would be on Mar 8 and Aug 9, 2022. Feature + security patch release date is on Oct 11, 2022. Patch releases include performance, high-priority quality, security, and compliance fixes to the core applications. Security patch releases ensure security only updates for the Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source applications. The upgrades will keep websites secure and compliant.
