Virtina won a project from a company in Pennsylvania, USA via a marketing agency. The client is a leading manufacturer of custom & hard-to-find coolant tubes for show trucks, fire trucks, motor coaches, school buses & more.
Besides this, the client is a manufacturer of other high-quality Truck Parts & Accessories. Something made and supervised to the highest standards in their workshop.
The stainless-steel fleet tube replacement company was looking to migrate their eCommerce store from an old platform to the latest Magento2. This was to accommodate the higher traffic and growing sales of the brand. In the process, they even wished to make their site responsive & thus, more mobile-friendly.
Challenges
The main problem the client faced was working on an old platform. The old platform did not offer the functionalities to support the increasing traffic. Also, it didn't support the ability to scale the store when they want to expand their business in the future. So, they wished to migrate to the latest Magento 2 platform at the earliest.
The site also wasn't equipped to handle any analytics or marketing strategy. As such, the client hoped that the re-platforming would infuse the site with specific modules. These components will assist them with furthering their brand and generating more leads.
The old site URLs were not SEO friendly. And there were limitations within the platform as it was a custom-built one. As such, the company wished to improve the strength of these URL's. An effort that will then improve the health & performance of the eCommerce site.
Virtina being the pioneer company in website design & development, worked to design a vibrant bespoke theme. Such a theme would be in sync with the nature of their business.
Alongside this, the client also requested to configure PayPal and Authorize.net as Payment gateways. Such a change would enable more payment options for their customers.
Further, from this, the client asked for QuickBooks Desktop Integration. This would permit BH Tubes to connect their Magento2 store with QuickBooks Desktop. Besides being able to synchronize information to QuickBooks automatically.
Another issue the client faced was related to shipping and the options after placing an order. This came in the form of invoice labels, PDF reports, Package slips, etc. They wanted certain custom integrations to streamline and simplify their delivery channel.
Solution
One of the critical things that we did was recommend the platform Magento2. As Magento 2 is one of the leading eCommerce platforms, all the while giving the ability to scale the site based on any requirements.
Also, it makes it easier to use a third-party theme or design and make ample modifications to suit the client's design pattern. Virtina purchased a responsive theme and customized it to get a look and feel of current site color pattern.
The Magento Experts at Virtina moved all the data to the Magento 2 platform. This included but was not limited to; products, customers, and orders from the existing site to the Magento2 platform. All this done in a way that would preserve all the entities and transfer them correctly to the new system.
After performing the said upgrade, they wished to update all the plugins on their site to the latest version. Once done they'd be more compatible and in sync with Magento 2. We updated the modules based on the updates from the merchant's payment/shipping modules, and so on.
We integrated the QuickBooks software using a 3rd Party Magento - QuickBooks connector extension to synchronize the inventory and orders with QuickBooks and Magento.
To overcome the shipping issues, we recommended the Shipper HQ extension as the permanent solution. Now it is using the custom extension and works accordingly. We then did a few customizations to match the QuickBooks and Magento field integration.
Results
The move to Magento 2 gave them a better Admin Interface, faster loading time, improved UX, better mobile performance & stronger features. With its responsive build & better efficiency, Magento 2 delivered on all their expectations.

In the absence of consistent and SEO-friendly URL’s; the site ended up getting the least amount of traffic. Besides causing navigational issues for the browsing visitor. But once, the experts at Virtina revised the URL’s; it became easier to jump from one webpage to another.
